The Mountains of Mourning are a mountain range in the Allied Lands, near Zangaria. A small population of people live there but generally keep to themselves. A river runs down from the mountains, goes through the city of Alexis, and goes out into the sea.[1] Though rocky, a pass carved out by the Empire runs through the mountains, though it has since been poorly maintained. Cockatrices, dangerous predatory birds, also lurk along the path.[2]
According to legend, a Faerie city rested on the highest of the mountain peaks. Humans would be taken by their masters and turned into hybrid monsters. It was destroyed during the Faerie War, but, due to a large number of ghosts, few people visit the ruins.[3]
